New Android package for the Raphael and Diamond

Postby Edvard on 21 Jun 2009, 01:08

It has been quite a while since the last Android package release here at Connect-UTB, so I guess its about time a new one gets released. This time its basically the same package that’s been available elsewhere for a few weeks now but if you haven't tested it already, here is your chance. The package contains default.txts for the RAPH100\DIAM100 and the RAPH800\DIAM800 (Sorry 500-users, you will have to fiddle a bit yourself, try the 100-defaults). I haven't done any extensive testing on it myself and I consider it a bit experimental so I would really appreciate some feedback.

Head on over to the download page

Hiya Edvard,
I have reports that the 'yet another kernel' from this post on xda-dev 'works' (i.e. has mmc and good color) for -500 using the mtype for -100. Also, I produced fairly recent Android images and an fs archive. I don't know what you packaged, or build your own from source, but I thought I'd just throw it out there, as I don't think -500 is missing anything anymore that -100 and -800 do have.
Also, that kernel detects and reports touched area size (I don't have confirmation that this works for -800, but since -500 uses the ts calibration from -800 it probably does), and the Android has vold hacked to traverse sysfs for Raph/Diam(/Blak?) and vold.conf to mount mmcblk0p1.
Cheers!

Awesome mate! I will check it out and distribute it to the testing group I have here and then publish it to connect-utb! Great work! :D

Glad to hear from you btw ;)

The new package is quite nice. Amazing boot screens, wallpaper fitting, it's all nicer. How close are we to getting calls, sms and data working??

Well, SMS actually works on GSM devices. The CDMA versions are proving much more difficult though.

Bottom line though is that its impossible to say how far or when things will be sorted out. Jobo is currently out of the country but maybe he will wave some more magic once he gets back :)

You need to disable the PIN-code protection in Windows Mobile before launching Haret and Android ;)

I have tried to Download it from the downloads page, and I get a File Not Found - is this because of the move to the new DL system, anyone have an alternate link?

Thanks
